How accurate is your OCR technology?
SmartCheck is trained on a large set of retailer till slips in South Africa, the UK and Australia. Poor image quality and faded ink are flagged for review so the customer can send a clearer photo or an operator can record a decision.
Which retailers are supported?
We support over 200 retailers including Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Woolworths, Clicks, Dis-Chem (South Africa); Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons (UK); and Coles, Woolworths, IGA (Australia). We're constantly adding new retailers based on client needs.
Can you validate specific products on a receipt?
Yes. SmartCheck can verify that specific SKUs, brands, or product categories were purchased. This enables product-specific promotions like "Buy 3 Coca-Cola 2L bottles to enter" or "Purchase any Maybelline lipstick to earn points." We match against product names and descriptions.
What if the receipt photo is blurry or incomplete?
If SmartCheck cannot confidently extract data due to image quality, the customer is immediately notified and asked to resubmit a clearer photo with guidance (better lighting, flat surface, full receipt visible). Failed scans are also routed to manual review for resolution within 24 hours.
How do you prevent fake or manipulated receipts?
SmartCheck includes advanced fraud detection: duplicate receipt blocking, digital manipulation detection, transaction consistency checks (date/time/amount patterns), and retailer-specific validation rules. Suspicious submissions are flagged for manual verification before rewards are issued.
